PLENARY TALKS - PART I

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
As the Innovations in Energy and the Environment (InnoEE) conference approaches, we are excited to announce some of our distinguished invited speakers, who will present state-of-the-art developments in energy conversion and storage technologies. Below are two of the confirmed plenary talks, which will be presented on Monday, May 12th. We expect more keynote speakers to confirm their participation in the coming days, so stay tuned for further fascinating news!

Sustainable refrigeration as an opportunity for society and climate

Yosr Allouche
DIRECTOR GENERAL
International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) — FRANCE
Dr. Eng. Yosr Allouche is the General Director of the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), having assumed the role in October 2024. She holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and is recognised for her expertise in the energy performance of CO2 transcritical systems in hot climates and PCM (Phase Change Material) energy storage. Dr. Allouche gained recognition as a research scientist in refrigeration technology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where she has also served as a visiting Associate Professor in Refrigeration since 2021. She has authored numerous publications in scientific journals, guides, and policy documents.

Numerical assessment of the Rough reservoir development as an UK intra-seasonal hydrogen storage facility

Zuansi Cai
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
Edinburgh Napier University — UNITED KINGDOM
Dr. Zuansi Cai is an Associate Professor of Energy and Environmental Engineering and a member of the UK EPSRC Peer Review College in energy storage. He is a recipient of The Royal Academy of Engineering Industrial Fellowship 2021/22. Zuansi has a track record of research excellence, including funding, publication and impact. He had published 50+ high impact journal paper (H-index=20, >1300 citations since 2019) in energy storage, renewable energy, etc. Recently, he has developed a novel numerical simulator with parallel computing capability. The simulator (GPSFLOW) is capable of simulating heat transfer, multi-phase and multi-component flow in pore media. The simulator has been recently used by Centrica to assess the performance of the Rough gas reservoir as hydrogen and gas mixture storage facility for zero emission energy transition.
More information about the confirmed speakers and events at InnoEE-2025 will be announced soon. Stay tuned for the draft programme, which will be published in April.
Sincerely,

InnoEE-2025 Organising Committee
